Modern drying & pressing techniques extend the life of pressed flower art for years of enjoyment. No
artificial coloring or chemicals were used in the pictures you see here. Only acid free mats, papers &
adhesives were used. When choosing a place in your home to display pressed flower pictures, care must
be taken to avoid strong light & high humidity. Please don't hesitate to ask
shelley@naturesartstudio.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Hard shell gourds (Lagenarias) are an artist's blank canvas. Besides becoming decorative pieces of art,
they're commonly used for storage, hauling water, making cooking and eating utensils, musical
instruments, bird houses & feeders. Nearly any thing you can imagine, can be used to embellish a
gourd. You can woodburn, stain, wax, paint, & inlay materials into them. You can even sand, carve, &
drill holes into them. But if you drop a dried gourd on a hard surface, it will usually crack. They're
truly "nature's pottery". As with any organic material, it's best to avoid harsh light.
